Last week, I attended the opening ceremony, one of the concerts and the open air brass band performance of the first CCOM & WBA International Brass Festival, Beijing, China. As Prof. Ruilin Zhao said during the opening session, the level of brass music performance has been greatly raised in the past 40 years. People still remember John Wallace and other foreign experts when they came to give master classes 40 years ago.
